Diversity Employment Network

The Diversity Employment Network (DEN) has been operating since 2020. Our mission is to build a culture of inclusion in the business community where all members feel safe and supported to participate meaningfully and bring their authentic selves to work. The Diversity Employment Network (DEN) wants to work with organizations who want to strengthen their diversity, equity and inclusion practices. Last year we created a valuable strategic partnership with Feed Nova Scotia, who are committed to social change and supporting the development of stronger DEI practices in organizations. Through learning, collaboration, and advocacy, we anticipate similar relationships developing through this event with likeminded organizations throughout Atlantic Canada.

As a social enterprise, DEN is paving the way for employers to evolve into diversity opportunity employers.

The event will include

  • Scheduled sessions with speakers on DEI challenges for job seekers and employers
  • Networking opportunities with the job seekers from the BIPOC community
  • Opportunity to perform one-on-one interviews with candidates at the venue
  • Special accommodation rates in the hotel for those who wish to stay over
  • Recorded sessions available online after the event
  • Live updates from of the event on social media

BIPOC Atlantic
Job Fair

Discover and connect with companies committed to diversity! The Virtual Career Fair easily connects you – from wherever you are – with employers seeking to hire diverse candidates. It is designed to bring employers and job seekers together virtually, for jobs that can be done remote or on-site.

What can I do at the Virtual Career Fair?

  • View and apply to fresh and exciting jobs from top leading companies. To help prepare for this event, find out which companies will be participating, register for the event and you will receive job alerts with the positions available.
  • Learn and interact with organizations about their open jobs, their company culture, and why they value diversity in the workplace.
  • Chat live with employers/recruiters and get interviewed through chat and audio conference.

Benefits of Virtual Job Fairs

  • Expanded Reach: Virtual job fairs allow exhibitors to connect with a wider audience than traditional job fairs. Since the event is hosted online, exhibitors can reach out to job seekers from different locations, making it easier to connect with a diverse pool of talent.
  • Cost-Effective: Virtual job fairs eliminate the need for exhibitors to invest in costly display materials or travel expenses. This can result in significant savings for businesses, especially those with a tight budget.
  • Increased Efficiency: Virtual job fairs allow exhibitors to streamline their recruitment process by using technology to automate certain aspects of the process. This includes features such as pre-screening candidates and scheduling interviews, which saves time and resources.
  • Real-Time Interaction: Exhibitors can interact with job seekers in real-time through chat and video calls. This allows exhibitors to answer questions, discuss job requirements and benefits, and provide information about the company culture.
  • Brand Exposure: Virtual job fairs provide an opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their brand and attract potential candidates. Exhibitors can use their virtual booth to display company information, including videos, photos, and presentations, which can help job seekers learn more about the company.
  • Data Analytics: Virtual job fairs provide exhibitors with valuable data analytics to track the effectiveness of their recruiting efforts. This data can be used to improve future recruitment strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Accessible Anytime: Virtual job fairs are accessible 24/7, which allows job seekers to visit the virtual booth and learn about the company at any time that is convenient for them. This flexibility can be beneficial for job seekers who may have busy schedules or live in different time zones.
